About Carl Yoshihara Photography

 

Hello I am an artist with a camera and I've been taking photos for a long time, but I've been creating art for even longer. My background in art has given me a unique vision into photography. I love how photos can capture so many things, convey so many kinds of ideas and emotions.

 

I really enjoy meeting and photographing people. People when they want their photo taken relax, open up and smile genuinely. This intimacy allows me to capture their true essence and personality through my lens. It's been great, I've made many friends this way.

 

Photography also allows me to explore the world with fresh eyes and experience so many new things. In order take a good photo you need to be observing and not just looking. I've come to have a better understanding and appreciation of the world around me.

 

I call California home and I have roots on Maui. That's where I get the love of the outdoors, vibrant colors and light. I hope you enjoy photography through my eyes.
